February 3 (Fri) 7:00 a.m. Old Myakka Bridge/Crowley Museum
Expansive views over the farm lands of Crowley and the wetlands along the Myakka River offer both advanced and novice birders an enjoyable morning! Guide Sharon Wilcox will point out ducks, wading birds, peeps, warblers, turkeys and raptors. It is not unusual to see over 50 species. A nice place to use both your scope and binoculars. Dress in layers.
Optional car pool leaving from the VAAS Nature Center parking lot at 6:15 or drive yourself to meet at the "bridge" at 7:00 a.m., just 1/4 mile past the Crowley Museum entrance. Later we will stop by Crowley to look for Red Headed Woodpeckers, Painted Bunting and a few other cool birds. Feel free to call with questions. Because of the potential for cancellation due to bad weather, please register.
Host: Jack Foard 941-412-5917.
