A handy walk around a one-mile paved pathway featuring a scenic lake filled with bird activity, including a variety of herons and a local favorite, the Purple Gallinule. A good hike for beginning birders, with ample time for tips on bird identification. Those wishing to continue birding can explore other areas of this scenic campus. Bring your binoculars. Meet in the main parking lot at 8 a.m. (from the main entrance road go left), 8000 S Tamiami Trail, Venice. Host: Patti Haynes
