We'll do birding from the south entrance of the gigantic Deer Prairie Creek Preserve. A new bridge has been installed allowing birding to be done on the west side of the creek for the first time. There is a possibility of seeing woodpeckers, warblers, hawks, scrub jays, wading birds, brown headed nuthatches, and other birds. About 2 to 3 miles walking along level packed trails. Some trails may be rough if turned up by pigs. Some trails may be wet if there have been recent rains. Meet at the south entrance parking lot at 8:00 AM. The south entrance to the preserve is at 10201 South Tamiami Trail, Venice, 34287
