Rookery Day 2024: February 24

It's a day to learn!  It's a day to participate!  It's a day for everyone!  It's Rookery Day 2024!

Rookery Day 2024 highlights Venice Area Audubon Society's conservation and education programs.  This family-friendly event offers activities for everyone including:
  • Guided bird walks around Venice Audubon Rookery Park
  • Learn about the nesting birds at Venice Audubon Rookery
  • View spectacular wading birds through binoculars and spotting scopes
  • Participate in the Rookery Watch nest and hatchling bird count
  • See the Purple Martin nest colony survey in action
  • Learn about the bats living at Venice Audubon Rookery Park
  • Hands-on learning activities and crafts for children
  • Learn about Venice Audubon's education programs, birding field trips and activities
  • Native plant sale by Florida Native Plants & Landscaping with pre-order option (see below)

Native Plant Pre-Orders

We're happy to announce Florida Native Plants Nursery & Landscaping in Sarasota is participating in Rookery Day on February 24, 2024.  While they will have a limited selection of plants available for sale at Rookery Day, pre-orders are available and encouraged for pick up at the event.

To pre-order plants from Florida Native Plants Nursery & Landscaping:

  • Check their plants list and shop the pages of Florida Native Plants Nursery & Landscaping's website.
  • Place your order via email to sophie@floridanativeplants.com
  • In your email, remember to indicate you will pick up your plants during Venice Area Audubon's Rookery Day event.
